All of Us Have a Place in This Story
(Adapted from the sermon, Jesus the Master Storyteller)
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”
Psalm 139:16 (NLT)
In the grand narrative of God’s story, every individual has a unique place. Psalm 139:16 beautifully reminds us that God saw us even before our birth, and every day of our lives was recorded in His book. Our existence is not accidental; it’s part of a divine story.
God’s plan for us is not a recent development; it was established before the world began, as 1 Corinthians 2:7 and Titus 1:1b-3a affirm. Our lives have purpose and significance, as we are chosen and ransomed by God Himself.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- How does the idea that God knew you before your birth affect your perspective on your life’s purpose?
- Reflect on God’s eternal plan for your life. How does it bring meaning to your journey?
- In what ways can you embrace your role in God’s story and live with intentionality?
PERSONAL APPLICATION: Reflect on your unique place in God’s story and strive to align your life with His eternal plan.
LOVE IN ACTION: Let the understanding of your significance in God’s story inspire you to value the lives of others, recognizing their divine purpose.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we are grateful for our place in Your grand story. Help us embrace the significance and purpose of our lives as we seek to align with Your eternal plan. May we also honor the purpose You’ve assigned to others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
