Jesus the Master Storyteller – Day 1

Jesus the Master Storyteller – Day 1

Everyone Loves a Good Story

(Adapted from the sermon, Jesus the Master Storyteller)

“In the beginning, the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1 (NLT)

“Once upon a time…” These words have the power to capture our imagination, leading us into a world of stories and adventures. Stories have a unique way of engaging us emotionally and cognitively, making them powerful tools for teaching. In the beginning, there was a different kind of Word—Jesus, the Word made flesh. The story of Jesus, the Master Storyteller, began at the very inception of creation.

As we explore Jesus’ method of storytelling, we see that it’s not just a human endeavor; it’s deeply rooted in the divine. Jesus used parables to convey profound spiritual truths. He is the living Word, the ultimate storyteller, and His story is interwoven with ours.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

  1. How does understanding that Jesus, the Word, was present at the beginning of creation, impact your view of His role in our stories?
  2. Reflect on your favorite stories or parables Jesus told. How have they impacted your understanding of faith and life?
  3. In what ways can you engage with the story of Jesus as the Word made flesh in your daily life?

PERSONAL APPLICATION: Take time to delve into the Gospel narratives and parables of Jesus, seeking to internalize the profound truths He conveyed.

LOVE IN ACTION: As you explore the stories of Jesus, remember that they are not just for personal reflection but also to be shared with others who may not yet know this incredible story of love and redemption.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the story of Jesus, the Word made flesh, who was with You from the beginning. Help us to engage with His stories, parables, and teachings, and may they shape our lives. Give us the courage to share His story with those who have not yet heard. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
