There has been a lot of debate among Christians about whether or not to be vaccinated against COVID-19. While I am not going to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, I wanted to share a couple of Scriptures with anyone who may been wrestling with this, along with a resource that may help to answer some of your questions and to dispel misinformation.
There is wisdom in researching something for yourself and in seeking the counsel of a trusted friend or medical professional. Ultimately, though, we should be going straight to God Himself in prayer, and trust that He will guide us in the matter.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.James 1:5 (New Living Translation)
The Bible clearly defines right and wrong in many different areas of life. We can all agree that murder is wrong, and that helping those in need is right. However, when it comes to individual matters not expressly addressed in Scripture, we must take it to the Lord, and be ready to hear and to accept His answer. God alone knows what is best for you. The challenge is to obey it without imposing your personal convictions on others.
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.James 4:17 (New Living Translation)
If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.Romans 14:23 (New Living Translation)
Having said all this, I would like to share the web site Christians and the Vaccine with you. As a disclaimer, the site is pro-vaccine, but it has a number of helpful videos addressing such questions as:
- Should Christians take the vaccine?
- Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?
- Is the COVID vaccine a form of government control?
- Is the COVID vaccine the “Mark of the Beast”?
No matter what outcome you decide upon, we trust that you will have researched this topic, talked with trusted people in your life, and most of all, that you have sought God’s wisdom. We love you and we are here for you.
Love in Christ,
