Today we celebrate the greatest news of all! Jesus Christ is alive!
While this holiday comes once a year, the truth of the matter is that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is something we declare and celebrate throughout the year. As it is written, “And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.” (1 Corinthians 15:17-20)
What claims can death have over us? Not only will we rise again, this time to eternal life, but we will stand before God Himself without fear of condemnation because Jesus Christ has made us right with God through the shedding of His blood. “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
How could we possibly do anything else BUT accept this free gift from God? Jesus is alive, and because He lives, so we are alive to God through Him!
Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday!
Love in Christ,
